Topic Solved Solved: HTML Menu Tutorial - Few Problems

Post by SL on Wed Jan 30, 2013 12:48 am

Hello CSS Help!

I've been using the tutorial found here (http://www.csshelp.net/t225-sexy-drop-down-menu-with-jquery-css-punbb-and-phpbb2) to replace the menu of a forum. The forum we're doing this on (http://tryandfindmenow.canadian-forum.com) is just a test forum for a site already live. This is the development of a new version of the existing site that we want to keep secret from our members.

Unfortunately we've been experiencing a few problems outlined in the photos below. The worst of it seems to happen in chrome:

Chrome:

As you can see, the forumotion ads are overlapping when they shouldn't be. Also, the links are the standard forum colour, can we change this? And there also seems to be some funky spacing issues going on as the red arrow points out.

The overlapping goes away in IE:

Another issues is the newsbox being crunched into a corner by the search bar. We're planning to use that, but if it needs to be disabled that works. It should be noted that in chrome, the overlapping ads do not overlap when the newsbox is present. We're planning to code the black menu bar to not overlap the search bar.

Your help on the above is appreciated. Those are the biggest concerns we have.
(Side note: is it possible to have certain links [register, log in] appear to guests, with things like [profile, log out, PM, etc.] appear only to members using this menu?)

Just some quick info
Forum Version: PunBB

Thanks in advance,
SL

EDIT: Moved to correct forum. ~RSguideMaker

We've been able to figure out a solution to the main problem, as such this is solved.
(We're having secondary issues that may be related, but we're working on fixing them. If need be I'll seek support here.)
