Solved: Simple solution? I don't have the answer..

Post by playful on Sat Jan 18, 2014 11:47 pm

Seems ok at first glance but look at the huge scroll bar at the bottom. If you use the scroll bar you can clearly see where several div's backgrounds are not flowing full width. If you refresh and maximize the browser you'll see it looks normal again however the scroll bar still wants to nudge right a ways and same problem appears.

Sadly this is Wp to which I am new with, and somewhat new to coding css. This theme has these elements spread across multiple files and not all of the styling is in 1 file. This is where my trouble lies.

I have tried not using max/min width..I've tried using 100% width attribute and nothing works until I use width: 1920px (the width of my browser) but all this does is cause the screen to act 1920px and everything is no longer centered or seems flexible. Can anyone help me? My goal is to have no scroll bar at the bottom even when in full screen and everything centered and flowing full width as intended.

Hello,

In this part
Code:
<div id="header">
<img height="100" width="1920px" alt="Header Image" src="http://www.istudiofx.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/cropped-header1x100png1.png">

try to change width="1920px" to width="920px" and see if is fixed.

Wow I don't even know what to say, that worked! However the background now if the color is changed does this.

This happens whether I use a 1x100 image or 1920x100 image. How would I get an image to flow flexible with the rest of it up to 1920px?
Thanks so so much for taking a look at this.

Sorry Mati, that does not seem to get the image to flow full width and it starts acting as it did before. I deeply appreciate your help though.

Tried echoing the image width like the height but produce's the same effect. I have no idea how to get the header to repeat without breaking the site.

Problem solved and I do owe you a huge thanks for leading me in the right direction.

In the style sheet I took out the max/min width and added width: 100% margin: 0 auto. Then in the header file I changed the width from 1349px; to 100%. Walla.

Thanks again for your much needed help!
